GRATEFUL FEELS LIKE…?

GRATEFUL FEELS LIKE…?

Is saying you are grateful getting as redundant as the word awesome or is there a more meaningful way to express oneself at this time of year?  Is being grateful more full-bodied than just saying the word grateful…does it need more pizzazz?

Yes and no. This year has been a wild ride and a prelude to what’s in store for us in 2024 which I think is going to be a doozy. However, if there was ever a time to express to the world a lovely wish of gratitude it’s right now.

When we express gratitude and receive the same, our brain releases dopamine and serotonin, two crucial neurotransmitters responsible for our emotions, and they make us feel good by enhancing our mood immediately, making us feel happy from the inside.

And unless we’ve been hiding under a rock we have all heard about keeping a daily gratitude journal.  If not you may want to take a stab at it as this practice has been shown to drastically increase happiness and physical/mental/emotional health. Practicing gratitude improves sleep, boosts immunity, and decreases the risk of disease. It encompasses and helps to short-change stress in our lives.

When expressing gratitude make sure you pay attention to how it makes you feelinside.  We know the difference between making ourselves feel good and feeling conflicted.  So if you want to participate in helping to heal the world (and I’m sure you do), know that this little act of kindness is what the world is aching to hear and feel from all of us!

It is said that if 1% of the world’s population can become “open-minded” by exuding gratefulness and pure love we can shift the trajectory of the planet.  And expressing gratitude is a wonderful starting point.

Heartfelt wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving to you and all concerned,
