NEW YEAR INTENTIONS FOR 2024

NEW YEAR INTENTIONS FOR 2024

I have spoken out about NY resolutions vs setting intentions in the past and last January on a popular morning show they started talking about the difference between the two and the advantages of setting intentions. Did they read my blog or was this a coincidence?

Resolutions simply don’t carry water. 90% of making them don’t pick up steam and die out within weeks. I think that they are carriers of what we already do too much of to ourselves…judge.

For instance, I set a resolution to start running (and I never liked running however I’ve heard it’s a good way to get in shape). Usually by the second week or as it’s being called New Years Resolution Ditch Day commencing on January 16th or 17th…don’t hold me to the exactness as it will cause me to judge myself…your resolutions fail and why?

Because your declaration is too finite and demanding and not something you truly want to do.

In essence, resolutions take a direction towards a specific action/date and time and if you are declaring something that doesn’t resonate with you to begin with you will find yourself up that creek without that paddle.

Intention setting is more about being specific about what it is you are choosing to bring into the new year and making it attainable ie. Try something like this…The idea of running is just one option in losing weight and I intend to find an exercise where I can not only get in shape like I would if I were to take up running but look forward to doing it!

It might seem like it’s a sleight of hand but if you have ever seen a great magician that can make a difference in a successful outcome or not.  So, in this case, though it may seem like it’s a matter of semantics it’s more than that because intentions delve into your emotional and spiritual side making one’s declarative determination more ‘meaty,’ attainable, and purposeful.

One of my intentions for the new year is to continue to deliver my blogs to you and I will strive to bring more insightful stories, tips, techniques, and wisdom.  I hope that I have enticed you enough to be called “a follower” and that you will feel motivated to add comments and suggestions for future content that I will be happy to deliver.

Heartfelt wishes for you to experience more of yourself to share with the world and to bring peace, harmony, and hearty laughter to all concerned.

Here is to that inner sparkle and brilliance of who you are to continue to unfold with little effort and much excitement,

Many blessings,
