NOT JUST FOR THE TIN MAN

NOT JUST FOR THE TIN MAN

You may disagree with me considering how the news is belting out literally and energetically, 24/7 about all the unrest that is going on in the world, especially the Middle East, and how it is affecting a lot of people’s psyche.

However, I think we can beat the noise down a few notches and come up with new behaviors and habits to resist the deep, uncomfortable sadness and dismay that many of us are carrying around and recognize the opportunity for learning more about who we are as individuals and as a species.

I am not saying to ignore what is going on.  It’s super important to stay informed, however, to take it inside us into a place where we cause more stress, depression tension and sadness for ourselves is not healthy.  But by summoning our kindness gene and expanding our consciousness for the better good by using it all the time from this day forward, I believe is key to our planetary existence.

I had a rental car the other week with only local radio stations so I was bombarded with commercials yet there was one that wasn’t an actual commercial that opened my ears and brought a smile to my whole self.

It was not any company nor religion nor disclaimer about medication sponsoring this talk…in fact, it seemed to come and go out of nowhere; nothing to sign up for or to buy but a core message being conveyed with a woman’s soft, gentle voice about kindness, that it is time to pull out all the stops to make this a new practice in all of our lives every single day.

I have also become more aware of how many people since that fateful event in Gaza are talking about turning from anger and not allowing themselves to play along any longer.  Although there will always be different perspectives as many are still using meanness as a way to express themselves, waking to the intrusion of others' insecurities and walking away into the light is what I envision as a way of evolving into a new future, possibly one without the spoils of war.

How simple it is to extend ourselves leading with loving kindness to others by becoming “good-deed-doers.” The Wizard of Oz bestowed a heart to the Tin Man making him aware that he already had everything good right inside of him already. And so do we.

So maybe we need to make a list to remind ourselves how to be the catalyst of extended loving kindness to others, friends family, or strangers. And this list would be about committing to one good deed a week for the 52 weeks of the year which when practiced daily will hopefully become an important, integral part of our whole Self.

No, not maybe do this however do something. If not this suggestion and if you feel that you want to make this a priority then you can make some sort of plan to your liking that will lead you down a new path of opening your heart.

Let’s ALL do this and share our wins with others starting with this blog.  Let’s do what I know we are capable of doing with a commitment to learning what it means to be part of the whole, as One.

With heartfelt blessings for peace on all levels…mind, body, and soul,
